The seasons shift, and so does my skincare. Now that the days are longer and warmer, I’m beginning to show more skin, so body care is taking center stage.
I’ve been using Saison’s Spring line for body, and like all Saison products, it embodies natural luxury. The Body Wash, Body Oil and Body Lotion have a refreshing, barely-there scent that is perfect for the season, and the products deeply nourish my skin while adding the visible hydration and softness I’m looking for.
Inside the Spring Body Wash
The Spring Body Wash works for all skin types, leaving skin oh-so soft. It also works as a bubble bath.
The body wash’s texture was surprising because it was more liquid—and less gel-like—than I expected. I thought the unusual texture would be at the expense of its cleansing power, but that was not the case. I’ve learned that Saison does things their own way, making it no less effective, but entirely original.
Ingredients of the Spring Body Wash: water, organic coconut oil, organic sunflower oil, organic castor oil, potassium hydroxide, citric acid, organic rosemary extract, fragrance made from pure essential oils including lavender and ylang ylang.

Inside the Spring Body Oil
The body oil is lightweight and nourishing, and absorbs quickly. It leaves skin soft and hydrated.
I especially love green tea oil as the primary ingredient in this product. Green tea oil is anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants and has a lightweight feel which is perfect if you’re concerned about body oils which make a mess on clothes (I’m looking at you, coconut oil!).
Ingredients of the Spring Body Oil: organic green tea oil, organic jojoba oil, organic safflower oil, fragrance made from pure essential oil, grapefruit seed extract, organic rosemary extract, tocopherol.
The oil may come out slightly separated. I give it a quick shake before pumping to ensure I get all of the skin-loving oils.
Personally, I prefer the oil to the lotion. There’s something about stepping out of the shower and applying this oil to slightly damp skin that feels so right. But I know and respect that many people prefer the feel of a lotion over an oil, and so I continue…
Inside the Body Lotion
Here’s the thing: lotion—any lotion—contains water, so it requires an additional preservation system. If you’re looking to go as pure and natural as humanly possible, use a body oil. If you’re really committed to using lotion—and many people are—use one that uses preservatives with a strong safety record, like the one here in Saison’s Body Lotion.
Ingredients of the Spring Body Lotion: water, organic coconut oil, organic vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, ascorbic acid, stearic acid, fragrance made from pure essential oils, grapefruit seed extract, organic rosemary extract, tocopherol, potassium sorbate.
If you’re looking to really seal in the moisture, apply the Spring Body Lotion after the Spring Body Oil.
What makes Saison Special
Saison puts a great deal of care and attention into each of their products. Saison’s products are made by hand in small batches in San Francisco, using quality, concentrated fruit, herb and flower extracts.
Saison’s products are fresh. They aren’t meant to sit on a shelf until the next millennia. Although the shelf life is technically 9 months, Saison recommends using their products within 3 months of purchase.
Where to Purchase
The Spring Body Wash is $38 for a 5.3 fl oz bottle. Buy it here.
Saison Spring Body Oil is $59 for a 5.3 fl oz bottle. Purchase it here.
The Spring Body Lotion is $41 for a 5.3 fl oz bottle. Find it here.
As you’ll notice, the size of these bottles are rather large at 5+ ounces each. Personally, I think the Body Oil is the best value, as it takes such a small amount of oil to properly moisturize damp skin.
An Alternative for Highly Sensitive Skin
Saison’s Spring line is developed for those with normal skin. But it does contain essential oils, which some highly sensitive individuals may find irritating. Saison understands, and has created an alternative. The Year-Around line is unscented and perfect for sensitive skin.
