Why I liked it
Not only was I able to find a shade which matched my complexion perfectly—more on that miracle below—the combination of primer and foundation wore beautifully throughout the day.
The primer smoothed out the flaws in my skin texture, while the medium coverage of the foundation was just enough to conceal what I sought to minimize without looking heavily made up.
It blended gorgeously, didn’t break me out, and made my skin look like velvet.
By day’s end I had a bit of sheen on my nose and forehead, but nothing that wasn’t remedied with a quick blot.

Better Together
Although I’ve heard of people using the primer or the foundation on their own, I prefer using them together. Separating the Stratus Instant Skin Perfector from the Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation is like separating Ginger Rogers from Fred Astaire. You can separate them, but whyyyy, when they’re so good together?!
The smoothing action of the primer enhances the pigment-perfecting power of the foundation, and vice versa. However, if you have naturally gorgeous—or very young—skin, using the Stratus Instant Skin Perfector alone as a 3-in-1 moisturizer/primer/no-color foundation just may work for you.
Free Shade Consultation Service
There’s something else you need to know about Vapour’s foundation. I got it online, and it matches my skin perfectly. Seems impossible, right? Vapour Beauty has an excellent free shade consultation service that actually works. It’s one of the best I’ve ever seen.
They ask a few questions about your skin, have you upload an image of yourself, ask about other makeup you’ve matched with before, and challenge you to guess where you fit in on a shade chart.
I’m deeply pleased with the shade they matched me with. I’ve been with professional makeup artists who’ve had difficulty finding a match for my fair-olive complexion; Vapour managed to do it online without ever having met me. Brilliant.

How to Use
The Stratus Instant Skin Perfector stick is applied first to a clean, dry face.
It has a distinct smell that I can’t quite place, which disappears a few minutes after applying.
It leaves skin feeling impossibly soft and velvety.
After allowing it to set for a minute or two, the liquid foundation is then applied directly on top with the fingertips.
My Shades
My Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation color is s123, and my Stratus Instant Skin Perfector color is 902.
The Stratus Instant Skin Perfector comes in three shades. 902 is made to enhance fair to medium skin with neutral or pink undertones, while balancing redness. The other shades are made to perfect light-to-medium sallow/olive skin (904) and balance medium/tan/dark skin tones (903).
