The Fortifying Face Balm is full of potent anti-aging ingredients. As a balancing anti-shine serum, it is perfect for the warm summer months.
It’s so easy to use that the man in your life may try to swipe it— which is exactly what Ursa Major intended! Their products are deliberately unisex. Ursa Major is, truly, modern skincare.
Unlike Any Other
This is a unique product—I’ve never tried anything quite like it. With its gel-like consistency, it’s much too light to be compared to other “beauty” or “cleansing” balms. After massaging half a pump onto clean, dry skin, it takes about 15 seconds to absorb and dry. It feels incredibly light on the skin, making it ideal for those adverse to traditional skincare. It calms reactive skin and does wonders for a just-shaved face.

Radish root ferment filtrate is a natural preservative which was developed after scientists discovered that animals infected with SARS had a better chance of recovery if they were fed kimchi. Kimchi, if your tastebuds aren’t familiar, is a traditional Korean fermented food. Researchers then discovered that if they isolated the bacteria used in kimchi (leuconostoc), let it ferment with radishes, then isolated the antimicrobial peptide, they were left with a non-irritating cosmetic preservative. Leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate is used effectively by a variety of popular brands such as Dermalogica and Peter Thomas Roth. Nutritionally, fermented foods have a world of benefit to offer your body; who knew they could also benefit your face?
Willow Bark Extract contains natural salicylic acid, without the same potential for irritation created by synthetic salicylic acid. It helps to maintain that clear and gorgeous mug of yours.
Kendi Seed Oil is an interesting ingredient that I’m surprised isn’t found more often in natural skincare formulations. It comes from the kukui nut tree (Aleurites moluccana), the state tree of Hawaii. Kendi seed oil is both moisturizing and reparative. It is full of skin-loving antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Kendi oil is often compared to argan oil, albeit with a lighter texture.
Ultimately, the Fortifying Face Balm doesn’t resemble the multitude of other skin products out there. It stands on its own as something different, something new. They aren’t making “their version” of what every other brand is selling— they make products that are uniquely Ursa Major.
For a product with so many nutritive, potent ingredients, this Face Balm is relatively unfussy. Its beauty lies in its simplicity.
