Don’t give up on natural mascaras. Good ones are out there, I promise.
Lily Lolo’s vegan Mascara is one of my favorites. It lengthens and defines lashes, and can be built up in light layers for a more dramatic look. And—unlike mainstream mascaras—it does not leave my eyes red and irritated by day’s end.
With Lily Lolo Mascara, you get the lengthening, defining, volumizing effect you want, just without the problematic preservative or fragrance ingredients you’re trying to avoid.
An All-Around Winner
Lily Lolo stands out from other natural mascaras because it dries quickly and is not prone to smudge. In this sense, it is straightforward and easy to use.
The color is a deep, creamy black. It’s extremely flattering on lashes. It also helps to hold the shape of curled lashes… which, if you curl your lashes, you know not all mascaras can do.
The lasting power is not perfect, but still very good. When I apply mascara at 6:30am, by 5pm I have some minimal flaking under my eyes. But this minor annoyance is easily remedied with the quick swipe of a clean finger, and isn’t bad enough to make me stop using this mascara. What I get from Lily Lolo Mascara (namely, clean ingredients and an effective formulation) outweighs any downside.

Laurel wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the fruit of the myrica pubescens plant. It is commonly used as a vegan substitute for beeswax.
Carnauba wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the leaves of a Brazilian palm tree. It is extremely durable and dries to a glossy finish.
Polyglyceryl-6 distearate is a scary-sounding but very safe emulsifier and emollient. Also found in moisturizers and sunscreens, it is generally safe for use even with sensitive skin.
