Sometimes in the pursuit of beauty, we overdo it. Maybe it was an overly enthusiastic exfoliation session, or a harsh product which left your face crying out for help. Even a “natural” fruit enzyme peel can leave skin in bad shape when not handled carefully. But whatever the cause, red, irritated and overstimulated skin requires gentle care.
For abused skin, Evan Healy’s Whipped Patchouli Vanilla Shea Butter is an excellent restorative mask. And for dry, mature skin, it’s an ideal moisturizer.
In the jar, this balm is somewhat solid (hello raw shea butter!), but easily softens into a silky texture in your palms. And although it is thick, it won’t clog pores.
How to Use as a Mask
To use as a mask, warm a small amount of the product between the palms and massage into clean, slightly damp skin. Let absorb for 15 minutes. Next, press a warm washcloth–or two–gently against the face, allowing the warmth to penetrate the skin. Lastly, wipe any remaining product from the face. VOILA! You’re looking better already.
Inside the Ingredients
Ingredients: raw shea butter, organic olive oil, vanilla-infused coconut oil, organic calendula-infused sunflower oil, olive leaf and rose petal in olive oil, patchouli essential oil, tocopherol, and flower essences of Crab Apple and Self Heal.

Raw shea butter is the natural fat derived from the nut of the African karite shea tree. When raw and unrefined, it has a powerful anti-inflammatory and skin-softening effect. The essential fatty acids and vitamins A and E in raw shea butter also create increased suppleness and elasticity in the skin, thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Patchouli also carries benefits beyond its distinctive fragrance. Patchouli is therapeutically used to heal wounds, calm inflammation, and even to fade scars. It may cause an allergic reaction in some, but is generally safe to use even by sensitive skin types in this mild form.
Eczema, Dry Skin, Recovering Skin
This slow-whipped product smells heavenly. Major bonus: it is effective at treating eczema, dry winter skin, rashes, and burned skin.
