I had the chance to test the Renew Repair Serum and Renew Pure Radiance Oil from True Botanicals, and I had to share my experience with you.
When the pandemic started and everything began to shut down, I neglected my self-care. I felt overwhelmed by the unknowns our world was facing—layoffs, school closures, and so much uncertainty. The stress showed up on my skin in the form of dullness, dryness, and worry lines. But last month I decided it was time to stop worrying about things I couldn’t control and to focus on the things I could. So I became intentional about hydrating again, I made more green smoothies in my kitchen than pizza, and I religiously used the True Botanicals anti-aging serum and facial oil.
The Results I Saw
There’s often a difference in the results a skincare product promises and what it delivers. But True Botanicals is the very definition of high-performance skincare. It’s pricier than many products on the market because the results speak for themselves.
After three full weeks of using this True Botanicals anti-aging skincare duo, these are the changes I saw in my skin:
- Overall redness was reduced.
- Pores appeared smaller.
- Less blotchiness.
- Small brownish marks from old blemishes reduced or disappeared.
- Smile lines around my eyes are not as deep or obvious.
- My skin feels firmer and plumper to the touch (a side effect which should also be attributed to my increased hydration during this trial period)
- I’ve regained my “glow”
Compare to The Ordinary Skincare Products
Before testing the True Botanicals Renew Duo, I had been using another organic facial oil: The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Organic Chia Seed Oil. I used it because it was natural and a bargain. I like it, but I don’t love it.
The first morning after switching to the True Botanicals Renew Facial Oil, I got up early in the morning and stood in front of my sink, brushing my teeth. My reflection caught my eye and I started laughing. My skin was so plump, no redness, little spots that had slowly been healing were diminished…. The True Botanicals Renew Duo was such an obviously superior choice for my skin over The Ordinary oil, it was laughable.
It’s true, The Ordinay makes some good, inexpensive skin products… but they don’t come close to True Botanicals. You truly get what you pay for here.
RENEW Pure Radiance Oil
The True Botanicals Renew Pure Radiance Oil is $110. I use it each day and night. It’s an extraordinary product for dry, dull, and aging skin.
This vibrant red facial oil has the ability to soften and nourish skin in a way other products simply can’t.
RENEW Repair Serum
The Renew Repair Serum is $140. It is meant to be used at night. This product tackles the damage caused by sun exposure and aging, while softening wrinkles.
The Difference Is the Ingredients
True Botanicals’ ingredient lists are everything potent anti-aging products should be: safe, effective, and free of cheap fillers.
On their website, True Botanicals discloses each and every ingredient in their products. And these products have some extraordinary ingredients! For instance, the Renew Repair Serum includes a bioferment + tripeptide 29, which comes from fermented algae and seaweeds. It boosts collagen production while inhibiting collagen breakdown.
I am one of the unfortunate skin types that struggles with both adult acne and wrinkles. If you’re like me, then you know that so many acne products make skin dull and dry (thus exacerbating wrinkles) and so many anti-aging skincare products can cause breakouts.
Thankfully, these products only served to calm and reduce my acne, not make it worse.
