Bentonite clay comes in two varieties: calcium bentonite and sodium bentonite. The practical difference between the two is that calcium bentonite has excellent remineralizing properties, while sodium bentonite has stronger detoxifying power, especially when it comes to absorbing heavy metals. For our purposes–purifying and nourishing skin through a facial mask–the calcium bentonite is preferable.
And remember—some bentonite clays are appropriate for internal use, but this one is for external use only.

How to Use Aztec Secret Healing Clay
To use, mix the clay with any of the following liquids:
- raw apple cider vinegar
- raw apple cider vinegar and raw honey
- water (which is milder than the other options)
Just remember: when mixing the mask, do not use a metal bowl or spoon. Use wood or plastic.
This mask is best done at night before bedtime, because it may make your face red for 30 minutes or so. This is normal and temporary.
