With my daughter beginning kindergarten after a nonstop fun-filled summer, my routine has finally begun to normalize. Even my self-care rituals shift. My beauty routine becomes less about shielding skin and hair from the constant assault of sunshine and saltwater, and more about meditative self care in the darkness of early school mornings.
Five products have moved to the forefront in this seasonal shift. I find myself leaning towards soft pinks in my makeup and nail colors. It’s a sweetness that feels just right in this forgiving weather. One new fall launch, Honest Beauty, has introduced me to my new holy grail concealer. And for my skin, an essential oil facial blend from a small-batch maker and a luxurious balancing toner are seeing me through the change in weather and routine.
Nail Polishes from Kure Bazaar
I’ve been hearing great things about Kure Bazaar for a while now, and finally got a chance to purchase some myself at the incredible Oh My Cream! natural beauty store in Paris. The French-made polishes are free of formaldehyde, toluene, dubiety phthalate and synthetic camphor. The shade pictured, Rose Milk, is my go-to neutral right now. It’s a perfect ballet pink. And I think the top coat is the best performing top coat I’ve ever found. It dries hard and glossy, and truly protects nails. I spent yesterday morning preparing my home for Hurricane Joaquin (the price of living at the beach in North Carolina), and even after moving quite a bit of outdoor furniture, not a single nail was chipped.
The Kure Bazaar nail polishes are $16 each. Purchase Rose Milk here. Or buy the Kure Bazaar Nail Lacquer Dry Finish top coat here.
Nudus Lipstick in Halo
Nudus’ lipsticks are both a lipstick and anti-aging formula. They’re completely decadent and expertly formulated. You can read my full product review and ingredient breakdown here. But this color, Halo, is perfectly in line with my current pink obsession.

*new* Concealer Duo from Honest Beauty
I’ve been patiently anticipating the launch of Honest Beauty, so the moment they went live I immediately jumped on the site and made a few purchases. One product that I absolutely love is the Honest Beauty Concealer Duo. It’s a game changer.
This concealer offers true full-coverage protection, yet sits weightlessly on skin. For the under-eye region it can be a bit drying without proper moisturization, but that’s easily remedied with a decent eye cream. My shade combination, Balanced Beige, works so well for my fair-olive complexion that I swear they must have color-matched my skin without me knowing. Honest Beauty has done what too many natural makeup companies fail to do: they’ve made their makeup for a wide range of skin tones and ethnicities. From fair to deep, Honest has you covered. And—best of all—the formula is free of parabens, phthalates, silicones, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances.
I’ll be posting a full review of Honest Beauty skincare and makeup soon, but in the meantime you can find the concealer here.
Sensitive Face Oil from Original Swiss Aromatics
This expertly-formulated essential oil blend is one of my favorite skin-calming remedies. It contains only four essential oils (moroccan chamomile, everlasting, lavender, and roman chamomile) in sesame seed oil. Now that the humid Southern summer has eased into more tolerable weather, my skin is just drinking this oil up. The oil is a blue-green color and has a vibrant botanical scent to it, and two drops leaves my skin plump and dewy, without any redness or irritation.

Divine Rose & Neroli Balancing Toner Mist from Odacite
Odacite’s toner mist is perfect for the fall season. While the weather is changing, and bringing my confused skin with it, the Divine Rose & Neroli Balancing Toner Mist protects skin from being either too dry or too oily. I mist lightly in the morning before applying my face oil, and again during the day to revive tired skin. 92.85% of the ingredients in this toner are certified organic. I love that.
