Acure’s Seriously Soothing Day Cream is a boon for sensitive skin. And for less than $20, it’s worth a try. It’s ideal for skin that’s:
- normal
- dry
- acne-prone
- itchy
- reactive
- prone to redness
It also works well under makeup and doesn’t make skin look too shiny—a major plus in my book!

The Smell
The smell of the cream may seem odd if you’re not familiar with unscented skin creams—but I’ll gladly choose a skin cream that keeps my skin calm over one that smells like lilacs yet contains synthetic fragrance compounds and/or irritates my skin.
Inside the Ingredients
This ingredient list is free of controversial parabens. It’s also free of highly processed ingredients like mineral oil and petrolatum. And it’s also free of that potential skin-clogger silicone.
Here’s the full ingredient list: organic aloe vera leaf juice, water, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate citrate, organic cocoa butter, organic coconut oil, organic glycerin, isoamyl laurate, glyceryl stearate, sodium stearoyl lactylate, organic argan oil, organic chlorella extract, glycerphosphoinositoylysine, horehound culture extract, glycerin, polyglyceryl-4 esters from olive oil, organic sunflower seed oil, glyceryl caprylate, sodium levulinate, organic açaí fruit extract, organic blackberry fruit extract, organic pomegranate fruit extract, organic rosehip fruit extract, organic matricaria flower extract, rooibos leaf extract, organic evening primrose extract, tocopherols, xanthan gum, potassium sorbate.
Extremely Safe | Reasonably Safe | Proceed with Caution | Insufficient Data |
Although this day cream contains organic coconut oil and a couple other coconut derivatives, I have had zero issues. Like many people with reactive skin, coconut oil can sometimes make my skin freak out. But for me, the Acure Seriously Soothing Day Cream has been nothing but calming.
But if you know that coconut oil is a no-go for your skin, or if you’re in the middle of an autoimmune flare-up, it may be best to stick with a different facial moisturizer like this one from True Botanicals or this one from Ursa Major.
One thing I don’t understand about the ingredient list—but which makes me chuckle—is that it includes both organic glycerin and conventional glycerin. Like, what?
Where to Purchase
Acure’s Seriously Soothing Day Cream is usually $18 for a 1.7 fluid ounce tube. However, you can find it online at Pharmaca for less than $15.
