Like all of Yuli’s products, this antioxidant serum is free of ingredients like parabens, PEGs, phthalates and synthetic fragrances. But Yuli goes one step further by avoiding phenoxyethanol and GMOs. These are two things that you may find in other products marketed to the natural consumer. A couple of the ingredients may be a mouthful, but are of natural origin. Thankfully, Yuli is transparent enough to reveal the sources of these ingredients. For example, the L-ferulic acid, which helps bolster the photo stability of the product, is derived from acai and argan oil. Another ingredient, D-alpha tocopherol, is derived from sunflower.
The liquified black garlic ferment is a fascinating ingredient. Yuli makes it in their own lab. By subjecting garlic—an antioxidant-rich ingredient—to bio-fermentation, the antioxidant power is increased by 6x. Bio-fermentation also boosts skin-loving enzymes while neutralizing pH. And, it should be noted, bio-fermentation neutralizes the stinky garlic smell.
There’s something else very important to note in this ingredient list: All ingredients have been disclosed. When you find a product that stands by all its ingredients—like this one—that’s a good thing.
Finding the word fragrance on the ingredient lists of other products means the company behind the product has chosen to not disclose all ingredients. Thanks to the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act of 1966, fragrance is considered proprietary information and allowed to be hidden from consumers. So while you see that single word on the label, it may contain any number of secret ingredients.

Usage Tips
I apply a pump of Liquid Courage to clean skin in the morning, then add a sunscreen on top. At night, I apply two pumps, then layer a moisturizer over it for additional healing.
This product may feel too heavy for those with oily skin (or for those living in hot, humid climates), but if you have normal-to-dry skin, you’ll love it.
