When it comes to skincare, why should the face have all the fun?! True Botanicals created an elevated skincare product for the body—which is why I’m so excited about the True Botanicals Resurfacing Body Mask!
Body care products can be boring…a scrub here…a body cream there. But the new True Botanicals body care duo is worth paying attention to. Here’s why: True Botanicals is the maker of some of the most luxurious, highest quality natural skincare available. Everything they make is exceptional. And their body products bring face-quality care to your whole body.
The Resurfacing Body Mask and Pure Radiance Body Oil not only make skin smoother, softer, and more radiant, they also use ingredients that help make skin healthier.
I’m typically low-key about my body care products; I’m happy to use whatever I or my kids have on hand. But I love using this body mask and body oil together. They work so seamlessly together. The mask gently exfoliates for brighter, fresh skin and the oil perfectly nourishes and moisturizes. I enjoy the weekly nighttime routine I’ve established with these products.
Inside the True Botanicals Resurfacing Body Mask
The True Botanicals Resurfacing Body Mask is the body version of my all-time favorite facial exfoliant, the Resurfacing Moisture Mask. It is jelly-like in texture and is simple to apply. After exfoliating your body with this mask, your skin becomes ready to make the most of the body oil that comes next.
Are you curious about what’s inside the Resurfacing Body Mask? Here’s the full ingredient list: organic green tea leaf extract, lactic acid, organic glycerin, amyris balsamifera bark oil, orange peel oil, cedarwood oil, patchouli oil, sandalwood oil, bulnesia sarmienti wood oil, cinnamon leaf oil, phenethyl alcohol, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hydroxide, alcohol, xanthan gum.

Although there are a few ingredients in yellow (“reasonably safe“) on this list, I feel very comfortable with this product. It is, by definition, an exfoliant. This means there are some ingredients that are gonna work hard. So just be careful to not get it in your eyes or any of your, ahem, sensitive bits, and you should be just fine. You’ll be glowing, actually, which is better than fine in my book!
What, no scrub?
Body scrubs take a ton of work and—more problematic—it’s hard to exfoliate evenly.
But the True Botanicals Resurfacing Body Mask uses lactic acid derived from fermented plant sugars to slough away dead skin cells without irritation. And here’s the kicker: lactic acid also stimulates the production of collagen and ceramides, which helps improve the look and firmness of skin.
So yes, I’m totally happy to skip the scrub and engage in the civilized practice of body masking!
Inside the Pure Radiance Body Oil
True Botanicals makes some of the most extraordinary skincare oils you can buy, period. They only use incredible, minimally-processed oils. Processing is a big deal when it comes to ensuring an oil isn’t compromised or rancid, even if its organic!
They also know how to use the right oils in the right contexts. Their anti-aging+anti-acne Pure Radiance Oil CLEAR is a godsend for so many women who read this blog. And this new Pure Radiance Body Oil is just as expertly and thoughtfully formulated.
It doesn’t leave skin greasy. Only glowy.
Here’s what’s inside the body oil. If you’re into skincare ingredient lists like I am, this should read like poetry: organic green tea seed oil, organic sunflower seed oil, organic hemp seed oil, organic chia seed oil, amyris balsamifera bark oil, orange peel oil, cedarwood oil, patchouli oil, sandalwood oil, bulnesia sarmienti wood oil, cinnamon leaf oil, organic rosemary leaf extract.
The scent is warm and sensual, but not at all overpowering.
There’s another benefit to using a body oil like this over a body lotion. Body oils can have purer, more natural, ingredient profiles because they lack water. Lotions contain water and therefore require a preservative system…. which is where you often find all sorts of ingredients you’d probably rather avoid.
Tips on using these products like a pro
To use the Resurfacing Body Mask, massage it onto dry skin. Leave it on for 5 to 15 minutes then rinse off. It isn’t particularly messy and has never stained any of the towels or bath mats in my bathroom. You can rinse it off in the bathtub, but I personally prefer to rinse it off in the shower.
This mask can be used once or twice a week.
With the Pure Radiance Body Oil, be sure to apply it right after showering or bathing while your skin is still damp. This will maximize absorption and make your skin feel soft as a baby’s bum.
