A clean blush that performs? Count me in.
Nu Evolution’s Pressed Blush is free of the usual culprits we seek to avoid in cosmetics, such as parabens and synthetic fragrances. But it’s also admirably formulated without talc or phenoxyethanol, two controversial ingredients often found in some self-proclaimed “natural” cosmetics.
Coverage and Wear
For me, the medium coverage of this blush is ideal. It’s neither frustratingly sheer nor too opaque. Leave the strong pigmentation to eyeshadows and lipsticks! With blush, a slight transparency is easier to work with.
The smooth finish doesn’t just add a soft flush of color, it also enhances the beauty of skin by blending perfectly and not settling into pores.
The coverage is buildable.
The Colors
Nu Evolution’s Pressed Blush is currently offered in three flattering shades:
- Cosmopolitan (pictured above): a neutral reddish brown
- Flushed: sultry pink with a light shimmer
- Soho: light and rosy
I love the Cosmopolitan color is because it’s tough to find a blush that flatters my light olive skin. I wear Cosmopolitan when I’m creating a neutral look. Cosmopolitan gives me a perfectly natural flush that I can wear for day or nighttime looks, without looking like a doll.
But Soho (pictured above) is pretty amazing. I add it with a very light hand, and it has a slightly brighter, more feminine vibe. I apply it to the apples of the cheeks, and wow. My look is tied together.
