More than a mere soap, Kahina’s new Beldi Soap is a luxurious skin-softening treatment. Inspired by the Moroccan Hammam (more on that below!), it brings body care to a whole new level.
Straight from the Moroccan Hammam
A Hammam is a type of steam room, similar to a Turkish bath, where Moroccan men, women and children relax and pamper themselves. Rooms are divided by gender, as very little clothing—if any—is worn. Friends and family take time to enjoy wellness, beauty and community. There’s no real American equivalent to it.
Exfoliation is an important part of the Hammam experience. Even if you’re familiar with sugar scrubs or exfoliating mitts, Hammam-style exfoliation is different. And Kahina’s Hammam-inspired Beldi Soap will help you get that kind of deep exfoliation.
There’s four general steps to getting Hammam-beautiful skin:
- prep the skin with steaming or soaking
- cleanse and soften skin with Beldi soap
- exfoliate like you mean it
- replenish your new, baby-soft skin with a quality oil
How to Use Beldi Soap

Beldi Soap can be used as a bodywash replacement in the shower. Its gel-like consistency and invigorating scent are well-suited for that purpose. But since you’ve got real Moroccan Beldi soap in your possession, why not go wild and make a mini-hammam at home?
Here’s how: Prep the skin by spending 5-10 minutes in a bath or steamy shower. Next, massage the fragrant Beldi Soap over your skin and leave it on for 3-10 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Skin will be soft and ready for exfoliation. Using a mitt, washcloth or konjac sponge, exfoliate in strong circular strokes. Rinse.
It’s amazing how skin will just roll off after it’s been properly prepped! To really become baby-soft, follow up with a nourishing body oil, such as Kahina’s Essaouira Body Serum.
