Here’s why SUPER Pit Putty is exceptional:
- The odor protection lasts through both extreme activities (like sports) and long days.
- The ingredients are clean. There’s none of those worrisome ingredients like aluminums or synthetic fragrances that give me pause in other mainstream deodorants.

The Sprint Test
Can a “natural” deodorant stand up to intense exercise? I had to find out.
I tested this deodorant in a spin class that guaranteed I’d be a sweaty mess. After the 45 minute class, my pits smelled like, well, nothing. Not even like deodorant or essential oils or other fragrances. I was drenched in sweat, but I smelled like nothing.
A bigger surprise? After the 20 minute drive home, still nothing.
I was also happy to see that the cream did not liquify and drip. I’ve tried deodorants that have done that before…. yuck. It looked like I wasn’t wearing deodorant, but the silky feeling and the odor protection proved it was still there, working on my behalf.
The Endurance Test
But a nonstop day can often be just as bad in the odor department as a quick, intense workout. Testing SUPER Pit Putty in daily life was necessary. I wanted to know, could this deodorant last from 6am to 8pm?
After a full day of carpool, lugging groceries, vacuuming at a breakneck pace (is there any other way to clean the floor?!) and breaking down boxes for recycling, I didn’t feel shy about throwing two arms around my husband at day’s end.

Arrowroot is something I often use in our gluten-free kitchen, and it works powerfully well in this deodorant. It’s a starch derived from a South American plant and can be used interchangeably with cornstarch. But arrowroot is preferable to cornstarch because it doesn’t undergo the harsh chemical extraction process that cornstarch does. In a deodorant, arrowroot has a silky texture on skin and helps to absorb perspiration. Added bonus: it’s generally well-tolerated by sensitive individuals.
Aluminum-free baking soda raises the pH of the underarm, making the region less hospitable to (stinky) bacterial growth.

An Alternative for Hyper-Sensitive Skin
Don’t get me wrong—the SUPER Pit Putty is full of clean, quality ingredients and shouldn’t irritate most people, even those with sensitive skin.
But some skin can’t handle baking soda or coconut oil, and that’s why Bubble & Bee created the Sensitive Pit Putty. It has the arrowroot, shea butter and essential oil blend I love so much in the other deodorant, but without baking soda or coconut oil. It also contains zinc oxide, which is naturally anti-bacterial and soothing to skin.
