I don’t have much eye makeup featured on The Beauty Proof. The simple fact is that so much of the natural makeup I’ve tested has ended up being disappointing. I’m seeking makeup that isn’t just healthy—I’m looking for products which I’ll love to use.
GET THE ANTONYM EYE PENCIL HERE
This Natural Eye Pencil from Antonym is one such product which meets the criteria of healthfulness and effectiveness. It rocks.
Reasons to love the Noir by Antonym Natural Eye Pencil
- it’s free of undesirable hormone-disrupting ingredients
- the color is rich and dramatic
- it is long-lasting and waterproof
- there’s Ecocert certification for quality assurance
- the candelilla and jojoba oil contained within are excellent moisturizers for sensitive skin
- the very mild formula is ideal for sensitive applications near the eye and along the waterline
- there’s a removable sharpener right on the end of the pencil
The texture is velvety and richly pigmented—it applies smoothly and blends or smudges as desired.
I find that in hot or humid weather the eyeliner needs a touch-up in the afternoon, but never more so than other eyeliners.
Inside the Ingredients
Ingredients: water, candelilla/jojoba/rice bran polyglyceryl-3 esters, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, sodium stearoyl lactylate, carnauba wax, glyceryl stearate SE, isopropyl myristate, glyceryl behenate, Chinese lacquer tree peel wax, oleic/linoleic polyglycerides active, propanediol, glycerin, ethyl lauroyl arginate HCL, glyceryl caprylate, hydrolyzed linseed extract, sodium benzoate, sodium hydroxide, C77499 pigment.
Candelilla/jojoba/rice bran polyglyceryl-3 esters, mouthful that it is, is a benign emulsifier which acts as a gentle alternative to cheap ethoxylated compounds in comparable products. The ingredient is created through the transesterification of polyglycerin-3, candelilla wax, jojoba wax and rice bran wax. As a user of the final product, the process of transesterification is less important than the fact that this eyeliner has a smooth, rich texture without irritating or drying the skin. Candelilla/jojoba/rice bran polyglyceryl-3 esters are also sometimes used in eye cream formulations to minimize the appearance of lines… don’t you just love that it’s found here, in this eye makeup?!
Upgrade to Natural Makeup
Before I switched to natural makeup, I assumed the slightly red, itchy eyes I acquired by day’s end were a function of my own fatigue. Now I know that my eyes were simply irritated by inferior makeup.
For me, making the switch to natural makeup wasn’t about fearfully dodging noxious ingredients. It was about making the transition to higher quality products which honored my body and wellness.
To Antonym, natural makeup doesn’t have to mean a natural look.
