In the midst of ongoing product testing for this website, there are certain products I come back to again and again. Here are the products that are currently part of my beauty regimen, as of December 2017:
In the morning, I cleanse with the True Botanicals Hydrating Cleanser. I follow up with the COQ-10 Toner from Indie Lee and Weleda’s Almond Soothing Facial Cream. I wear zinc oxide sunscreen every day, no matter what. I’m on my third bottle of Ursa Major’s Daily Defense Lotion SPF18. My skin is prone to hyperpigmentation, and this stuff has protected my skin better than other sunscreens with significantly higher SPFs.
For my body, I wash with Dr. Bronner’s iconic Castile Soap—the unscented baby version in the light blue bottle. I moisturize with jojoba oil from Desert Essence. For deodorant, it’s all about Ursa Major’s Hoppin’ Fresh Deodorant.
For makeup, I use Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation in Warm Honey, Nu Evolution Blush in Cosmopolitan, the twist-up Precision Eye Pencil from Juice Beauty in a warm brown shade, Mineral Fusion mascara, and a tinted MyChelle lip balm. When I’m feeling a bit fancy, I’ll switch out my mineral foundation and tinted balm for the Nu Evolution Complete Coverage Foundation and Kosas Lipstick in either Royal or Rosewater.
In the evening, MyChelle’s Micellar Water and a plain cotton round remove my makeup. I’ll usually do a quick wash with the True Botanicals Hydrating Cleanser. Then the fun begins. I apply True Botanicals’ Cellular Repair Serum with targeted mix-ins; I alternate between the Vitamin C Booster and the Antioxidant Booster. I then lock it all in with a thin layer of the Pure Radiance Oil, CLEAR.
Every weekend, I do a Reconstructing Masque on my hair—this stuff is a miracle-worker. I hope EVOLVh never stops making it!
For perfume, I use two drops of Jasmine Oil on my wrists and neck. The scent is seductive and intensely feminine, but as a pure essential oil it also supports my mood, hormone balance, and resilience to stress.
