The Aztec Secret Healing Clay is a powerful product to detoxify and remineralize the skin.
Due to its ability to absorb and remove impurities, bentonite clay has a variety of wellness applications. It can be taken internally as a cleanse to rid the body of excess heavy metals and chemicals along the digestive tract. Or it can be used topically to heal irritated or injured skin. It can even be used as the primary ingredient in a DIY natural toothpaste. Personally, my favorite application of bentonite clay is as a facial mask, and my favorite clay for that is the Aztec Secret Healing Clay.
Inside the Ingredients
One great ingredient: calcium bentonite clay from Death Valley, California.
|Extremely Safe||Reasonably Safe||Proceed with Caution||Insufficient Data|
Bentonite clay comes in two varieties: calcium bentonite and sodium bentonite. The practical difference between the two is that calcium bentonite has excellent remineralizing properties, while sodium bentonite has stronger detoxifying power, especially when it comes to absorbing heavy metals. For our purposes–purifying and nourishing skin through a facial mask–the calcium bentonite is preferable.
Where to Purchase
Aztec Secret Healing Clay is $8 for 16oz jar. Purchase it here.
How to Use
To use, mix the clay with any of the following liquids:
- raw apple cider vinegar
- raw apple cider vinegar and raw honey
- water (not as good as the other options, but it works if you don’t have any ACV on hand)
Just remember: when mixing the mask, do not use a metal bowl or spoon. Use wood or plastic.
This mask is best done at night before bedtime, because it may make your face red for 30 minutes or so. This is normal and temporary.
