I’m impressed by the Noisette Eye Shadow Quattro from Antonym on every level. It’s one of those makeup products that’s so good, I forgot that it’s natural.
Why it Rocks
- Expertly coordinated shades
- Clean ingredients
- Medium-intensity pigmentation that applies evenly
- Eyeshadow doesn’t melt off during the day
Sustainable Bamboo Packaging
Antonym’s packaging stands out from the crowd—the lightweight sustainable bamboo case with a magnetic closure is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It feels uniquely modern compared with the ubiquitous plastic packaging usually found in makeup packaging.
Although Antonym makes two different eyeshadow palettes, what drew me to the Noisette color combination is that it is a perfectly balanced combination of nudes. The colors are a pale gold, copper, pearl brown and matte brown. Each offers excellent pigmentation. These eyeshadows prove that natural ingredients don’t necessitate a “natural” look—a dramatic eye can definitely be created using these eyeshadows, if that’s what you’re looking for.
Inside the Ingredients
Ingredients: talc, mica, wheat starch/wheat, organic wheat starch, organic corn starch, phytosqualan, caprylic/capric triglyceride, isoamyl laurate, zinc stearate, glyceryl caprylate, magnesium stearate, lauroyl lysine, sorbic acid, octyldodecanol, silica. May contain: CI 77491 (iron-based colorant), CI 77492 (iron-based colorant), iron oxides, titanium dioxide.
|Extremely Safe||Reasonably Safe||Proceed with Caution||Insufficient Data|
99.62% of the ingredients are from a natural origin, and 12% of the total ingredients are from organic farming. Be sure to keep in mind that it doesn’t matter that the organic percentage is so low…. as a mineral-based eyeshadow this is, necessarily, primarily an inorganic product.
The eye shadow quattro is not a gluten-free product (hello organic wheat starch), so if you have serious wheat or gluten allergies, this eyeshadow is not for you.
Where to Purchase

This product is part of my popular guide, The Shopper’s Guide to Natural & Nontoxic Makeup.
I’m also impressed with the Antonym-brand makeup brushes. These are absolutely some of the highest quality synthetic/cruelty-free brushes I’ve come across. The top-quality PBT bristles pick up and apply the eyeshadow beautifully.
You can find the Antonym brush collection (reasonably priced from $14 to $24) here.
Thank goodness for Antonym. They’ve raised the standard for modern natural makeup.
