New, Updated Packaging
Jacqueline’s Note: This cleanser is now known as the Facial Cleansing Gel. It’s $10 for a 4 oz bottle. Check that out here.
It’s a better price and easier to pronounce than the old formulation. No complaints here!
Finally, a pure face wash that cleans thoroughly without making my face feel like it was scrubbed with dish detergent. There’s not much to say about the Acure Superfruit + Chlorella Growth Factor Facial Cleanser other than this:
- It works. It even fully removes my (non-waterproof) eye makeup without the help of a washcloth.
- It doesn’t irritate or dry my skin. Even though it’s formulated for combo to oily skin, it’s been gentle when my skin was feeling drier than usual.
- It’s got a clean ingredient list that’s worth checking out.
Inside the Ingredients
Ingredients: organic Curoxidant(™) Superfruit blend (organic acai berry, organic blackberry, organic rosehips, organic pomegranate, organic calendula, organic chamomile, Rooibos), lauryl glucose (vegetable derived), decyl glucoside, fair trade olive oil, organic chlorella growth factor, fermented sugar, potassium sorbate, lemon essential oil, citric acid.

The box brags “vegan, sulfate free, cruelty free, paraben free, PEG free, petroleum free, phthalate free, silicone free, won’t clog pores.” And I think they’ve earned those bragging rights.
One more thing that makes this ingredient list compelling is the chlorella growth factor (CGF). I’m a big fan of mixing chlorella with water and lemon juice in the morning for general wellness, but CGF (an extract of chlorella) is an anti-aging ingredient frequently used by Acure which protects collagen and elastin fibers in the skin from damage-causing enzymes.
